BROADBAND
:: Introduction
Broadband is quickly becoming the primary method for businesses
to connect to the internet. Broadband means an internet connection
that has a much higher data rate than modem or ISDN connections,
and is commonly shared so that all computers in the office can
access the internet. This can of course be restricted as the business
requires.
In South West England, the
most commonly available broadband technology is ADSL.
This is provided via standard analogue telephone lines in
areas that have had the telephone exchanges upgraded to provide
the service. The areas that currently have broadband are listed
in the link on the left side of this page.
Compology uses a number of internet providers when supplying
broadband to it's customers, it's a common misconception that
only BT supply broadband. We tend to favour smaller internet
providers that can provide a better level of service than
the larger telecoms organisations can offer. |
